Our Program

SLC is built around a simple idea: families don't have to do everything alone, but they should remain at the center of their child's education.

We believe this reflects the biblical responsibility given to parents to faithfully guide and train their children. As Proverbs 22:6 teaches, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Our role is to come alongside parents in that work—not to replace them.

Students attend SLC for focused, in-person instruction and learning with their classmates two days per week. What happens in the classroom becomes part of a larger education that continues at home throughout the rest of the week.

On Campus

We spend two days per week on campus, where students receive direct instruction from their teachers, participate in discussion and activities, practice important skills, and engage with challenging ideas and content.

At Home

Parents continue the work of education throughout the week. They oversee assignments, reading, practice, and other learning experiences and determine how SLC fits into their family's overall homeschool plan.

Together

Teachers and parents communicate about student progress and work together to help students develop strong academic habits. SLC provides one important piece of the educational picture; families determine how all the pieces fit together.

SLC is not a school or a homeschool replacement. It is a collaborative learning community designed to strengthen and support the homeschool experience.

A Device-Free Campus

We believe students learn best when they are fully present—with their teachers, their classmates, and the ideas they are exploring. SLC maintains a fully device-free campus: students do not use phones, smartwatches, or personal electronics while on campus.

This creates space for focused learning, meaningful discussion, direct communication, and genuine relationships. By setting technology aside, we give students the opportunity to engage with one another and their learning without the distractions of a connected world.

Who SLC Is For

SLC is for families who want the flexibility and involvement of homeschooling combined with the benefits of excellent classroom instruction and a community of learners.

SLC may be a good fit if you:

Want to remain actively involved in your child's education
Value a classical, Christian approach to learning
Want a set academic direction but don't necessarily want to choose and teach every core subject yourself
Appreciate learning through discussion, books, writing, problem-solving, and hands-on experiences
Want your child to learn alongside a small community of peers
Are looking for academic support as your child enters the upper elementary and middle school years
Want the flexibility to shape the rest of your child's education around your family's needs and priorities

SLC may not be the right fit if you:

Are looking for a traditional private school
Want someone else to assume responsibility for your child's entire education
Are looking for a full-time school schedule or a complete school curriculum
Want your child to attend classes without significant learning and oversight continuing at home

Our goal is not to take over your homeschool. It is to make it stronger.
