Sonoran Learning Collective is for students in grades 2-6 who thrive in a small classroom setting with teacher-led instruction. Our program is for families looking for individualized instruction with the opportunity for parents to participate in their child's education. We serve homeschooling families needing extra support as well as those students coming from a traditional school looking for a hybrid experience.
We carefully crafted a Christian-based lesson plan in the core subjects to give students a well-rounded foundation in each grade level. Classroom notes and assignments are shared through an app so students and parents are always informed about what has been completed and what is coming up. Click here for a curriculum overview.
We follow a traditional school-year calendar, with classes beginning in August and ending in May. We observe seasonal and holiday breaks throughout the school year, as well as field trips, community service opportunities, family nights, and special events.
We believe in children learning from a teacher who is passionate about education and the subjects she is teaching. We want students to love learning and we strive to foster their natural curiosity and joy of learning. Our teachers provide instruction and direction for each subject to ensure students are following along and comprehending the content of each lesson.
Our curriculum is carefully selected to be well-rounded to give students a strong foundation in each core subject, while also supporting a Christian worldview and virtues. Most subjects include written work but will also include group discussions and collaboration.
We want all of our students to be proficient in expressing their thoughts in both written and verbal communication. We encourage students to answer questions in complete sentences orally and in their notebooks. This traditional written method reinforces retention of information, concentration, and hand-eye coordination.
