Sonoran Learning Collective is for students in grades 2-6 who thrive in a small classroom setting with teacher-led instruction. Our school is for families looking for individualized instruction in a shorter school week (Monday-Wednesday) with the opportunity to participate in their child's education the remainder of the week.
We follow a carefully crafted, Christian-based curriculum in the core subjects to give students a well-rounded foundation in each grade level. Classroom notes and assignments will be shared through a custom app so students and parents are always informed about what has been completed and what is coming up. We follow a traditional school-year calendar, with classes beginning in August and ending in May. There will be seasonal and holiday breaks throughout the school year, as well as field trips, community service opportunities, family nights, and special events.

Students are dropped off at 9:15am and the school day begins at 9:30am. The school days follow a traditional format where students receive subject-specific instruction from a teacher in a classroom. In the mornings, students work at grade-level then come together for the second half of the day for collaborative group learning. The day also includes time for recess, breaks, and lunch. Students are picked up at 3:00pm.
We have carefully selected a set curriculum plan so that students can receive instruction in core subjects and have the steps necessary to build upon each subject as they progress in grade level. Class recaps and homework assignments will be shared with parents via a custom app. Please click here to see our curriculum overview.
Unit tests will be given in math and literature so parents are attuned to where their student is at academically and what needs to be focused on at home. We will also regularly assess composition skills and provide feedback to both parents and students. We do not issue report cards but can assist parents in creating a gradebook and report card template to be used at home.
Students are not required to wear a uniform but we do ask that each student dress in a way that does not distract from or deter learning. We expect students to dress nicely in Sunday School-style attire. A plain polo/T-shirt and tan, gray, or navy pants or skirt are suggested.
