Class placement is based on readiness and skill development rather than strictly by age or grade level. Our multi-age classes allow students to work at the level that best supports their growth while benefiting from peer modeling, collaboration, and individualized instruction.
Our curriculum follows established classical programs with a clear sequence and long-term plan. This ensures that instruction is not random or pieced together from year to year. Instead, subjects are intentionally scaffolded so that students steadily build knowledge and skills over time without gaps. Families can be confident that the work students complete is part of a thoughtful trajectory designed to prepare them for middle school expectations and, ultimately, for a successful transition into high school.
In mathematics, we use Rod & Staff, a well-known mastery-based curriculum that builds skills in a clear, sequential order. Students develop strong computational ability along with careful reasoning and problem-solving habits. Because concepts build on one another, students gain confidence as they move steadily through increasingly challenging material.
For writing, we follow Classical Academic Press’ Writing & Rhetoric program, which introduces students to the classical "progymnasmata" - a series of structured exercises that historically formed the foundation of classical education. This approach treats students as apprentices learning the craft of writing from great stories and great thinkers throughout history. Step by step, students learn to narrate, summarize, imitate, and eventually develop their own clear and persuasive writing.
By following these structured programs, we ensure that students are not simply completing assignments but are progressing through a meaningful course of study designed to strengthen thinking, communication, and academic readiness for the years ahead.
Our academic program is built on curriculum from faith-based publishers that approach subjects through a Biblical worldview. This includes using a Biblically historical perspective and timeline, helping students understand history, science, and literature in the context of God’s truth and His unfolding plan for humanity.
